Game Brief

Probably the best 8 bit Sonic game there is, "Sonic Chaos" (or "Sonic & Tails" as it was known in Japan) is a game very similar to the Megadrive/Genesis's "Sonic the Hedgehog 2". You could play as either Sonic or Tails, both with their own special techniques. Sonic could spin-attack and the "quick-accelerate" where Sonic runs on the spot until released. Tails's special technique was, once again the ability to fly. The real selling point of this game was the special stages. They would alternate with every emerald you collected. They didn't just alternate in colour or difficulty like past special stages, they alternated in complete layout. Every special stage would be something different.
