Sonic 3D Blast 5 is probably the only pirate game that is playable... slightly. The developer has got the right idea; old school Sonic gaming on the Gameboy. But unfortunately he's broken the mechanics, the sound and the premise. It isn't even 3D! But even if it was, it would have never worked well because the Gameboy doesn't really lend itself to 3D gaming. Key points to note about this game is that like most pirate Sonic games, it's hard. Not because the developer has managed to insert some sort of difficulty, oh no. It's just so damn difficult to work with the engine, you can't really proceed any further then level 2. Items and enemies will just decide if they want to appear or not. In the first run of the game you'll notice a spring that won't appear the next time you boot it up. The game is just broken really. Another poor excuse in getting tourists to buy rubbish games put out by programmers who are just trying to earn a cheap buck. The cartridge scan you see below is a multi-cart which has 'cleverly' disguised the aformentioned Sonic game as G-Sonic (the japanese version of Sonic Blast for the Game Gear).
