Sonic's Schoolhouse is not really a "game" and not really worth mentioning, but it does show an interesting turn in Sonic's history. The mid-90s were not a great time for Sonic. The Sega Saturn flopped and apart from Sonic R, Sonic didn't get an exclusive release due to the fact that Sonic X-Treme got canned. So Sega started to branch out slightly, giving other developers their licence to include Sonic in their games. Traveller's Tales had the biggest success with Sonic 3D and Sonic R but some other companies got their hands on Sonic and almost ruined him. The biggest flop was Sonic Jam on the Tiger Game.com but Sonic's Schoolhouse also fits in this category. Developed by Orion Interactive, Sonic's Schoolhouse is an edutainment title where you control Sonic from a first-person perspective to navigate a school and participate in different learning mini-games. That's all that's worth mentioning, mainly because there isn't one memorable edutainment title.
