Sonic Crackers
Sonic Crackers is a strange little oddity. The game is a 'submission' piece that was made and put forward to management to be approved for further development. There is a lot of mystery around the game especially because the game is dated '1st April 1994'. Could it be an April Fool's joke? Most think 'no' because the game is rather well developed, making it one of the most elaborate April Fool's jokes in history.

The game is a 2 level demo for what most people believe to be an early playtest to what could have become either Sonic the Hedgehog 4 or Knuckles' Chaotix. The gameplay mirrors Knuckles' Chaotix exactly, with 2 characters bound by elastic energy via the rings they hold.

The game features two playable (yet uncompletable) stages; one that resembles a construction site and another that appears to be another carnival-themed stage. It also has 2 free-roaming 'field' stages that could have acted as exploration elements between stages or special stages themselves.
