Cameos

Sonic is a well-known and loved video game character, so it was inevitable his face would start popping up in various SEGA games over the years. Whether it's billboards to complete appearances, I've tried to log every Sonic cameo worth mentioning.

Rad Mobile / Gale Racer (1991)

A Sonic ornament hangs from the rear-view mirror. In the Saturn version of the game the ornament changes every 100 races; Sonic is default, followed in order by Tails, Metal Sonic, Mighty, Eggman, Silver Sonic, Ray, Amy, Metal Sonic, Knuckles, and Super Sonic. Art Alive (1992)

Sonic appears in 3 poses as 'stamp' characters which can be used to decorate the images you create in this art simulation game. IMAGE Click the thumbnails for larger images.

Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco GP II (1992)

SEGA Superstars (2004)

SEGA Superstars is a mini-game collection created by Sonic Team. It features a game for 12 different SEGA licensed games and one of them features our favourite hedgehog (Sonic) and our least favourite hedgehog (Shadow). The game uses the EyeToy to form the game's controls. Waving your arms in an arch will move Sonic (or Shadow) around a tube filled with rings and bombs, similar in style to the special stage in Sonic Heroes. Collecting rings enables you to score high and collecting all 7 Chaos Emeralds scattered through the stage will turn you into your Super form giving you invulnerability. SEGA Rally (2007)

2 liveries can be unlocked; 1 portrays artwork and logos from the game Shadow the Hedgehog. The other is decorated with images and logos of Sonic the Hedgehog. IMAGES Click the thumbnails for larger images.

SEGA Superstars Tennis (2008)

The sequel to SEGA Superstars, sees Sonic and his friends (as well as a selection of other SEGA characters) engage in a round of tennis. Sonic, Tails, Amy, Shadow and Dr. Robotnik all make appearances as playable characters. 2 Sonic themed stages also appear; one that resembles Green Hill Zone and another which resembles the Scrap Brain Zone.
